To begin with, it is necessary to say that, Australia is situated in the south-west of the Pacific Ocean. The area of this country is 7, 7 million square kilometers. The population of the country is about 20 million people. The capital is Canberra. The population of Canberra is about 300 thousand people. Official language is English. Australia is the largest island in the world and it is the smallest continent.

By the way, Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere. Because it is south of the equator, the seasons in Australia are the opposite of those in Europe: it’s winter in Australia when it’s summer in Europe.
