Surgeon, one of the founders of Ukrainian surgery school.

He invented new operation methods for digestive apparatus (for the first time in history he managed to transplant pancreas to diabetic), heart and oncological diseases. He conducted more than 40 000 surgeries. He headed the first in Ukraine heart transplantation operation. In 1998 the International Chamber of the American Biographical Institute recognized Shalimov as a Man of Planet. He is an author of more than 830 scientific works and 112 inventions; founded two research institutes in Ukraine (Kharkiv and Kiev). He was also elected as an honorary director of the Institute of clinical and experimental surgery of the National Science of Ukraine (after his death the institute was named after his name). WHAT IS ART?

Art is a term that describes human activities and its products.The most often it refers to painting, film, photography, sculpture, music, theatre, dance, literature.

Art is something that stimulates an individual's thoughts, emotions, beliefs, or ideas through the senses.

Sculptures, cave paintings, rock paintings are the oldest arts. The oldest art objects in the world—a series of tiny, drilled snail shells about 75,000 years old—were discovered in a South African cave. Containers that may have been used to hold paints have been found dating as far back as 100,000 years.

Music. To many people in many cultures, music is an important part of their way of life.Within "the arts", music may be classified as a performing art, a fine art, and auditory art.

Theatre is a form of fine art.Live performers present the experience of a real or imagined event before a live audience in a specific place. The performers may communicate this experience to the audience through combinations of gesture, speech, song, music or dance.

Dance is an art form that generally refers to movement of the body, usually rhythmic and to music.Dance is a form of nonverbal communication between humans.Dancing has evolved many styles. Breakdancing and Krumping are related to the hip hop culture. Ballet, Ballroom, Waltz, and Tango are classical styles of dance while Square Dance and the Electric Slide are forms of step dances.

Literature is the art of written work.

The four major classifications of literature are poetry, prose, fiction, and non-fiction.

Sculpture is three-dimensional artwork created by shaping or combining hard materials: stone, metal, glass, wood.Materials may be worked by removal such as carving; or they may be assembled such as by welding, hardened such as by firing, or molded or cast.

Graffiti art and other types of street art are graphics and images that are spray-painted or stencilled on publicly viewable walls, buildings, buses, trains, and bridges, usually without permission.
