1 The Present Simple is often used with the adverbs of frequency to show how often something happens. How often do you get up early?- I always get up early.

2. Adverbs of frequency come before the main verb but after the verb to be and auxiliary or modal verbs, such as do, can, must etc. She never plays tennis on Saturdays. I don’t often go swimming.  
3. Sometimes and usually can also come at the beginning or the end of a sentence. Sometimes I play cards.- I play cards sometimes.    
4. Rarely, seldom and never have a negative meaning and are never used with the word not. Emily never watches football matches.  
5. Adverbs of frequency always go before the auxiliary verb in short answers. Do you play computer games? - No, I never do.
